Lowboy Restoration |
| Sometime in the past, this period lowboy ( circa mid 1700's ) had been poorly re-veneered on the top. |
| Unfortunately, the veneering was done incorrectly and with the wrong types of veneer. |
| We removed the rest of the veneer off the top ( none of it was original to the piece) and re-veneered using book - matched walnut crotch with a walnut banding. |
| We painstakingly finished the top in hand rubbed shellac and used several special techniques through the process to "age" the finish and match the unique look of the lowboy.
