WoodShield Polyurethane is ECO FRIENDLY and is a very low VOC finish making it a great choice for working indoors without all the harmful chemicals. WoodShield Poly creates a tough, protective barrier that helps your furniture stand up to everyday life. Why WoodShield Advanced Polyurethane Outperforms other leading brands
WoodShield Advanced polyurethane by WeRefinish is a true self-linking urethane wood finish using a true polyurethane resin system, unlike box store brands which are primarily acrylic-based or urethane-modified with minimal to no true cross-linking.
Green Technology
What are VOC’s, and why they matter ! VOC stands for volatile organic compounds, which are the chemicals released into the air as a finish dries. These are what cause that strong “paint smell” during and after application. Finishes with lower VOC levels are better for both you and your home because they release fewer chemicals into the air, making them safer to use indoors with less odor – while still providing strong, long lasting protection.

Directions For Use
Stir contents thoroughly – avoid shaking! Strain the finish prior to use / application, using a fine mesh cone strainer. Thin product with water only if needed (not typically required or recommended)
This is a self sealing product – no sealer is required or recommended. Initial coats can be treated as seal coats
When Brushing, apply this finish with the grain, in smooth even strokes. Avoid over brushing. This product will self level as it dries. When spraying, apply light coats as the sealer coats. Avoid spraying wet coats until a couple light sealer coats have been applied and dry, increasing the wetness as you begin to apply finish coats with, and across the grain. Dries within an hour. Allow 2 hours prior to recoating.
Sand between coats with 220 to 400 grit aluminum oxide sandpaper, progressing to a finer grit with each coat. Wipe off dust with a clean, lint free cloth dampened with water. DO NOT use a tack cloth.
Typically, apply 3-4 coats of WoodShield for standard furniture such as dressers and chairs, and 4 to 5 coats on high traffic surfaces such as table tops and desk tops.
Allow at least 24 hours drying time before rubbing, polishing, wet sanding or waxing.
IMPORTANT: Do not use tack cloth between coats. It can cause improper cure, hazing, crazing, lifting or peeling. Use a lint-free cloth, dampened with water only. For same reasons refrain from applying over a slow drying oil based stain. For best results, use our Wiping Wood Stains. Designed to be applied over our NEXTGEN, Designer Series or Vibrant series stains
Important!: Woodshield Should be mixed by stirring only, DO NOT SHAKE ! Shaking will cause air bubbles, which will be transferred to the sprayed surface possibly creating tiny bubbles on the surface. If Shaken, allow to sit 24 hours min. before applying.

Sammy Lippencott –
After using Behr Polyurethane for years, I tried WoodShield because I have loved every WeRefinish product I’ve used to date and it didn’t disappoint !! Its not as thick as the Behr, and while I do love the Behr and will still use it on some jobs because its easily accessible to me, I will use Woodshield on ALL high traffic pieces from here on out because its so scratch resistant and looks gorgeous when dry !!
